Obituary for Paul Batsarika

Paul Batsarika, 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Bridgeway Care and Rehab Center in Hillsborough.

Born in Mytilene, Greece, Paul immigrated to the United States with his mother and sister in 1956 residing Plainfield.

He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1966 and the following year he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving overseas during the Vietnam War. Paul received his honorable discharge in 1973 and for the past 35 years had been a resident of Middlesex.

Paul worked in the car industry for his entire working career. He was employed by Autoland Car Sales in Springfield and was also the owner and operator of the former Certified Auto Relocation Services in Bridgewater prior to his retirement.

A true car enthusiast, Paul had a great appreciation for a variety of antique vehicles and taking on restoration projects, particularly his 1959 Corvette.

In addition, Paul was an avid sportsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating.

Predeceased by his father, Ioannis Kakampouras and mother, Mariola Kakampouras, surviving are his wife, Rose; sons, Frank Sorge; and Vincent Sorge and Gerald Evans; sister, Aglaia and Simon Siliverdis; niece, Andreana and Louis Tietjen and Family; nephew, Gerry Siliverdis and Family and nephew, John Siliverdis.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July24, 2017 beginning at 8:30AM in the Middlesex Funeral Home 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 followed by a 10:00AM funeral mass at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Piscataway.

Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 2-5pm in the funeral home.
