Richard W. McCriskin, Director

License: N. J. Lic. No. 3147
Having been a licensed funeral director with the state of New Jersey for more than 30 years, Rich is the Founder and Co-owner of McCriskin Home For Funerals.

Born and raised in South Plainfield, Rich is a 1969 graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Westfield. He graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service Inc. in New York City in 1973, and earned his Practitioner of Mortuary Science license in the fall of 1974. He purchased the building in 1975 and in 1976 the business began.

Rich is a member of the National Funeral Director’s Association; the N.J. State Funeral Director’s Association - where he has served by invitation, as a member of the NJ Funeral Directors Services Corp. Board of Directors.

Rich is a member and Past President of Middlesex & Somerset County Funeral Director’s Association, a member of the South Plainfield Lion’s Club, Co-founder of the South Plainfield Business Association, a member and Past Chaplin of the South Plainfield B.P.O. Elks and Knights of Columbus, and he is also a member of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. An exempt fireman, Rich was formerly active for more than 15 years as a member of the South Plainfield Vol. Fire Dept., where he held various executive offices including 4 terms as President. He is also a life member of the NJ State and the NJ Exempt Fireman’s Associations.
