Obituary for Anthony M. Danella

Anthony M. Danella, Jr. 85, of Piscataway, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by the love of his family.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anthony Sr. and Alvina Danella, he resided in Brooklyn before settling in Piscataway in 1967.

Mr. Danella proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 17th Infantry where he was wounded in battle and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the VFW Post 2290 in Piscataway.

Anthony went on to work as a Freight Conductor with Conrail in Metuchen for over (30) years before his retirement.

He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed horse racing. Mr. Danella was formerly active with the Piscataway Babe Ruth Baseball and Little League Baseball.

Most of all, Anthony enjoyed the quality time spent with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Theresa Oakwood Danella in 2006, and his dear son and his wife, Anthony M. Danella III and Barbara Ann, and a brother in law William Sheehan.

Surviving are his loving children, Judith A. Danella, James P. Danella and wife Elizabeth, Lori M. Mulligan and husband Richard, and Thomas J. Danella, his cherished grandchildren, Stephanie (Joseph), Anthony (Michelle), Kristina, Alicia, Danielle, James, Joseph, Dean, and Amanda, his great-grandchildren, Olivia Marie and Riley Ann, his dear sister Angelina Sheehan, and his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Thursday, October 20th, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 501 New Market Road, Piscataway.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Danella's memory to Haven Hospice, 65 James St, Edison, NJ 08818
