Concetta Calabrese, 90, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown.
Mrs. Calabrese worked as seamstress for the former Bruno Dress Factory in South Plainfield and was a member of the International Ladies Garments workers Union.
A communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, Concetta enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very loving and welcoming to all and was a fabulous cook as well.
In addition, Mrs. Calabrese cherished her citizenship, and remained current on political issues, Federal, State and local.
She is predeceased by her husband Antonio who died in 2014 and is survived by her daughters, Gina Solazzo and her husband Anthony of Watchung and Josephine Jacobs and her husband Stephen of Jacksonville, Fl; brother, Antonio DeSantis of South Plainfield; grandchildren, Jennifer Ricci and her husband Fred and Erick Anderson and his wife Cristina and great grandchildren, Lucas and Roman Ricci and Elle and Myles Antonio Anderson. Also surviving are numerous extended loving relatives and friends.
Concetta will be remembered for many things, including her devotion to her family, her perseverance despite many obstacles, and her kindness and caring for all whom she met.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2-6PM in the funeral home.
