Helen R. Andresen, 97, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2017 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Manhattan, NY to the late Joseph and Margaret Welsch she went on to attend art school in New York City, and was an accomplished artist, receiving recognition of her work from a young age. Helen settled in South Plainfield sixty years ago with her beloved husband, the late Raymond Andresen. Her passion for art carried into her career as an advertising designer for the former Ronnie Packaging Company in South Plainfield. She enjoyed quilting and received awards for her work throughout her adult life. Most of all, Helen enjoyed the quality time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Andresen in 1991, and his sister Margaret Hauser.
Surviving are her loving children, Dorothy Richardson of South Plainfield, Gordon Andresen of Charleston, W.Virginia, Eric Andresen of South Plainfield, and Mark Andresen of Atlanta, GA., her cherished grandchildren, Peter Andresen and Lauren Craven and husband Christopher and great grandchildren Alexandra and Cole.
Visitation will be held on 9:30-11:00AM on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
