Wynona French, 97, of North Plainfield, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2017 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater.
Wynona was born In Portland, Maine to the late Everett and Avis Pierce and was raised in Bangor, ME. She travelled extensively living in many places, including Hawaii, Peru and Puerto Rico before settling in North Plainfield, NJ in 1962 where she resided for 51 years.
Wynona was the matriarch of her ever growing family who she enjoyed spending quality time with while sharing stories of her life, laughing and loving life.
Wynona was an avid golf fan and played for as long as she was able. She played on the Burroughs Golf Team during her employment there as a machine operator until her retirement in 1982. During her time in Hawaii she played some of her favorite golf courses.
Wynona was preceded in death by her three siblings and her beloved daughter Jane Blank.
Surviving are her loving children, Peter French and wife Josephine, Ronald French and wife Barbara, and Catherine French, her fifteen grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren to carry on her legacy.
Wynona touched many lives and will be forever loved and missed by all.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00PM at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations made in Wynona’s memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
