Piscataway – Kenneth H. Stewart, 85, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Center of Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains.
Born in Wanamie, PA and raised in West Nanticoke, PA Kenneth graduated from Harter High School. He worked in the coalmines of Nanticoke after graduation for a short time before relocating to New Jersey. Kenneth resided in Somerset and North Brunswick before settling to Piscataway.
Kenneth worked in the Delco Battery Division of General Motors on the assembly line. Prior to retirement, he held the position of quality control inspector with the company.
A member of the Piscataway Senior Center, Kenneth enjoyed taking trips with the group to Atlantic City. In his younger years, he loved to go fishing and hunting.
Predeceased by his parent, Harvey and Ruth Stewart; sister, Edith West and brother, Harvey “Whitey” Stewart; surviving are his four children, Debra Ciabatoni of Piscataway, Darlene Matzer of Nebo, NC, Dr. Kenneth R. Stewart of Lititiz, PA and Donna Gray of Toms River, NJ.
He will also be missed by his nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10AM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by burial in Franklin Memorial Park, Somerset.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
