Lawrence Joseph Michael Feeley, Sr., 73, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2018 at Arista Care at Cedar Oaks in South Plainfield.
Born in Newark to the late Walter and Helen Feeley (nee Ulander), he was raised in Newark and Spotswood before settling in South Plainfield in 1971.
Mr. Feeley proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He went on to work as a truck driver, most recently with Victory Trucking in Cranbury.
He was an avid reader and a wealth of knowledge, always able to recall information and answer all of the Jeopardy questions with confidence. Lawrence enjoyed basketball and football. He loved following sports, especially the Boston Celtics and the Indianapolis Colts. He was the BBQ master and loved time spent with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years Judy Waterman Feeley, his loving children Lawrence Joseph Feeley, Jr. and wife Leeada, Denise Werrlein and fiancé Tony Polanco, and Erik Feeley, his cherished grandchildren, Ciara, Logan, Zachery, Lexi, Angel, Liam, Sarah, and Gavin, his dear brothers Frank Kelly and wife Laverne and Walter Feeley, as well as his extended Feeley and Kelly family and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.
Funeral services will begin at 7:30PM with prayers and military honors at the funeral home.
